Bailey Jean Smith

BFA Music Dance Theatre · BYU 2026

Bailey Jean Smith is a singer, dancer, and storyteller originally from Utah and now based in New York City. At the heart of her work is a deep belief in the power of story to connect people, and a desire to uplift, influence, and inspire hope for mankind.

While studying Music Dance Theatre at Brigham Young University, Bailey has performed in cabaret-style productions, with professional theatres, and with touring groups. Recent credits include Ilona Ritter and dance captain in BYU's Mainstage production of "She Loves Me," "Harmony" at Hale Center Theatre, and "Cinderella" at Sundance Summer Theatre. Over the years she has earned numerous awards and honors in dance, including a Top 10 Female Dancer Award at National Dance Honors.

Bailey finds her greatest fulfillment in expression. Through dance, song, and performance, she shares the freedom she has found in love. She has always had a way of making people smile, laugh, and feel loved and seen, and that is exactly what she loves to do as a storyteller.

Offstage, you will find her outdoors enjoying nature, working with young dancers on their craft, and spending time with her family and friends. Follow along on Instagram at @sbaileyjean.
